Due to lack of enough healthy eating options in Georgetown, the three co-founders found an opportunity to start the restaurant back in 2007. They became confident that they will succeed after surviving the first winter break when there are no students in school.

He says the hardest thing in managing is letting go of some roles as the company grows. He admires Under Armour’s CEO Kevin Plank. His favorite restaurant, apart from Sweetgreen, is Little Serow in DC for their great Thai food.

Nathaniel Ru is a former student of Georgetown University where he graduated with BS in Finance in 2007. Together with two other collegemates, they started Sweetgreen, a fast-casual salad chain.

The restaurant was started with the aim of providing delicious, healthy, and eco-friendly food to the people. Their first store was at the heart of Georgetown.
